Melanie Robinson Findlay, PsyD, LICSW, CCHP-MH, is a clinical social worker who has simultaneously worked in corrections and at a community health center for nine years. Melanie’s work in corrections centered around fostering empowerment and promoting advocacy for a population that felt powerless within the system that provided their care.
Melanie's work at a community health center focused around empowering and assisting the 'working well' (i.e...individuals managing every day life struggles) to facilitate change and acceptance during difficult times. Melanie worked with individuals, couples and families and facilitated anger and stress management groups.
Melanie continues to advocate for individuals who were underserved and continues to work tirelessly to ensure that those who present for help receive fair and equitable treatment despite their backgrounds. Melanie believed that though she and her teams could not predict outcomes, they could foster personal understanding and growth that allowed their clients a better opportunity to obtain and maintain change.
Melanie works with adolescents and adults managing a myriad of difficulties and is available to offer support and assistance to you and your family.
Melanie is an adjunct professor at Boston College School of Social Work, Simmons University School of Social Work and Bridgewater State University's School of Social Work, Chair of ASWB's Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice Committee, and a post doctoral fellow in the Neurodevelopmental Center at Mass General Brigham Salem Hospital. Melanie also chaired the Board of Registration of Social Workers in Massachusetts from 2017-2021.
